The extent of the disaster in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast from Hurricane Katrina seems overwhelming, but there are things we can do to help.
Ancient Order of Druids in America (AODA) has set up a Red Cross Fund and
they are using a blanket "Druid" donation. The AODA is also raising
funds to support Red Cross efforts to help survivors of Katrina.
Pagan Pride is also helping to raise funds. Click here for info.
Maria Raven: Animal rescue from the hurricane flood waters: North Shore Animal
League is sending down trailers to help rescue animals and bring them to shelters
in new york. I donated money and if i can i will try to physically help with
the animals they are bringing back north. Here is where people can donate:
6th Night Grove has set up a PayPal account for donations: "If anyone wishes to contribute directly to the American Red Cross via our web site, it is up and running. All contributions will be forwarded to the American Red Cross under the name of ADF." http://www.6thnight.org/
the Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum later this month:
(BTW: the renovation of the Perth Amboy apartments is completed, they no longer need volunteers, however, they could still use donations of new furniture and appliances, or those in excellent condition. Click here for more info from Blue at RUPSA.)
Of course, you can also contribute directly to your local Red Cross.
Praise for Deb
for getting Red Cross training. Once the training is complete, she will
be deployed to New Orleans.
