20th:
Ocean Conservancy Point Pleasant Grove Beach Clean-up!
Six
dedicated Druids worked two shifts to clean up Point Pleasant Beach,
NJ, the beach where we celebrate our Winter Solstice Sunrise Ritual,
and Spring and Fall Manannan Rituals! The ocean was loud, the waves
were large, and roses kept washing up for us, along with acorns and
pine cones. Good omens. We picked up a lot of trash, "discordian
trick-or-treat," and had a lot of fun doing it. Then we cleaned
up at the arcade, winning all sorts of cool plastic prizes and a pumpkin
puppet for our Senior Druid.
We're very grateful to those who responded. We have used this beach
many times for rituals, and this is one of the most meaningful ways
we can thank the land for hosting us. Thank you Karl, Ed, Bob, Hillary,
Tiffany, and Nora.
Karl organized the cleanup in conjunction with the New Jersey Department
of Environmental Protection and the Ocean Conservancy's International
Coastal Cleanup. Thanks, Karl!
