December 22nd 2010: GOG's Solstice Sunrise Ritual on the Beach

Our traditional sunrise ritual on the beach to welcome the sun back after the shortest day. (We celebrated the sun's return on the 22nd because the solstice moment happened after dark on the 21st.) 18 stood on the frozen beach to see a beautiful sunrise, the ocean a myriad of colors-- blues, reds, oranges, and grays-- a low bank of clouds, and the sun big and warm and glorious.
